Balearic Island’s hosts launch the 12th Home Sharing Club in Spain

On Thursday 26th October, home sharing hosts in the Balearic Islands got together to launch the Mallorca Home Sharing Club, the 12th club in Spain and Portugal.

Two dozen hosts gathered in the museum of Es Baluard, in Palma, to discuss how home sharing helps create a sustainable tourism model in the Balearic Islands.

The 11 other home sharing clubs in Spain and Portugal warmly welcomed the creation of this new club and its members by sending their best wishes over video during the launch. Balearic hosts heard how important cooperation had been among the different clubs across Spain and Portugal and learnt helpful advice from each of them.

After having shared with balearic politicians how home sharing has benefited their families and communities, hosts debated during this meeting how to keep advancing fair home sharing regulations in the islands.

“Until now, we have done a lot of activities to defend the right of Majorcans to share their homes. But from now on, with the Club, we’ll be stronger when we fight together”.

Mercedes, home sharing host in Mallorca.
